Our Story

How we met and fell in love

Our journey began in January 2020 at Johnston Middle School, where we first met as coworkers. In the beginning, our interactions were simple, a passing hello here and there, but it wasn't long before those brief conversations turned into a meaningful friendship.

As we spent more time together outside of work, we discovered how much we enjoyed each other's company. Whether we were watching movies, talking for hours, or taking long drives with music playing in the background, the ordinary moments quickly became our favorites. We celebrated Jordyn's 21st birthday together, a day that also marked our first date, and from there, our bond continued to grow. Before long, we were spending nearly all of our free time together, building a friendship that would become the foundation of something even greater.

On May 24, 2020, we went to dinner and during the meal, our server mentioned that we made a cute couple. We laughed at the comment, as we were not officially together at the time. Yet, looking back, maybe everyone else could already see what we had yet to admit ourselves.

Later that evening, Jordyn shared that she didn't want to remain "just friends." After months of spending nearly every day together, it had become clear that what we shared was more than friendship. Justin agreed, and that night he asked Jordyn to be his girlfriend. It was a simple moment, but one that changed the course of our lives forever.

From friendship to partnership, our story has been built on laughter, companionship, and a deep appreciation for life's everyday moments. We are so grateful for the journey that brought us here and are excited to celebrate this next chapter surrounded by our family and friends.

Frequently Asked Questions

We've got you covered

What is the dress code? +

We're going for formal attire. We kindly ask that you avoid jeans and casual wear — think suits or a sport coat, and formal dresses or elegant separates. The ceremony and reception are both indoors. Our wedding color is dusty blue if you'd like to coordinate!

Can I bring a plus one? +

Your invitation will indicate if you have a plus one. Due to venue capacity, we can only accommodate those specifically named on the invitation. If you have questions about your invitation, please reach out to us directly!

Are children welcome? +

Kids are welcome! However, unsupervised children will be given an espresso, a kazoo, and taught the "Baby Shark" dance.

What about dietary restrictions? +

You'll choose your entrée when you RSVP — Chicken DeBurgo, Braised Beef Short Ribs, or a kids' meal. There's a spot to note any allergies or dietary needs, and we'll work with our caterer to make sure you're taken care of.

Is there parking available? +

Yes! The venue has a large parking lot with complimentary parking. For those staying at the Residence Inn in The District, the venue is within walking distance - no shuttle needed!

Will there be an open bar? +

Drinks will be complimentary during cocktail hour, and afterwards it will be a cash bar. We'll have plenty of options including wines, craft beers, signature cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages.

Can we take photos during the ceremony? +

We have a professional photographer and videographer capturing every moment of the ceremony, so we kindly ask that you keep your phones and cameras put away during that time. However, during the reception, snap away! We'll have a photo booth and encourage you to share your photos using our wedding hashtag #TheTewlyweds

Do you have a registry? +

Your presence is truly the greatest gift! We aren't doing a traditional registry, but if you'd like to help us celebrate, we'd be so grateful for a contribution to our honeymoon fund — you'll find the link under the "The Wedding" tab.
